The Horses
The horses used
are Gelderlanders (also known as Dutch warmbloods), bred
in Holland for their ability, temperament and poise.
They are trained to a high standard for harness and specially
selected for their team ability. Our horses are chestnut
in colour with matching markings, have high-stepping
and high head carriage. The combination of all these
creates a very striking and smart turnout.
The Carriages
A variety of carriages are available including a
magnificent glass Landau. This carriage, favoured originally by
the gentry for its grace, style and comfort, is particularly
suitable for weddings used open-topped, or protected
from inclement weather by the glass front and sides
and
by the hood at the back. Whether open, hood up
or closed, those travelling in the carriage can be seen by spectators,
whilst enjoying the views during their enjoyable drive.
Finishing Touch
To complete the picture, the driver and groom will
be dressed in matching livery consisting of long blue jacket,
white jodhpurs, white stock, top hat, gloves and
mahogany topped boots.
Highsteppers take pride in giving personal attention
to the finest detail and planning, routes and timing,
all in consultation with those making a booking.
Highsteppers also give tuition in driving a single,
pair or team of horses/ponies, using their own
or the clients'
animals. Horses and ponies can be broken to harness
with livery included.
Tony & Sue get great enjoyment from their
animals, and have great pleasure in offering their
services to
others to help make your event 'special'
